In this cycle-friendly city of more than 60 craft breweries the union of beer and bike is closer than anywhere. Travel Oregon has outlined a tour of Portland that samples the breweries of the east side of the city, starting at the Burnside Brewing Company on Burnside St, before heading southwest to the Hair of the Dog Brewing Company, a Portland pioneer. From here, turn eastward and ride to the Green Dragon, which has 62 beers on tap, including many of the Pacific Northwest’s signature hop-rich pale ales. Next up is Coalition Brewing in the residential Buckman neighbourhood. The final stop is the beer bar Apex to the south.
